About Us  學校介紹

Email: contact@nvcs98.org

The North Valley Chinese School (NVCS) has been providing Chinese language and culture education to pre-school age thru 12th grade students in the greater San Jose area for the past seven years. We strongly believe that the education our students are getting from our school will enhance each of our student’s sense of inner value and heritage identity, if applicable, and will help to promote their understanding and appreciation for other cultures in this age of globalization, and as a result, make them a better and more responsible citizen in this diverse world-community.
For help our students to learn Chinese as an American, NVCS continues to offer many programs to make learning interesting and relevant. In addition to our annual campus-wide academic contest, our students also get to test their skills in mini contests of Chinese words, phrases, and culture. For the 2004-2005 school year, our higher graders engaged in a live interview with a guest and went on a field trip to the Dragon Skies special exhibit at the Oakland Chabot Space and Science Center, and learned about Chinese astronomy. In the 2005-2006 school year, they will interview another guest and visit the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University to look at the Center’s Chinese and other collections. Our lower graders have fun with our outdoors teaching activities, where they review their Chinese, play games, and have fun with lots of balloons.
